NatureU’s new 56 – day PQQ skin – aging study registration on ClinicalTrials.gov is a bold move. But we can’t just take it at face value. The industry is full of hype, and we need to dig deeper.
The official release says the new study shows a – 46.7% change in crow’s – feet wrinkle count and + 58.7% in stratum corneum hydration. It joins two prior peer – reviewed studies on sleep and satiety. However, the industry knows that exploratory studies like this are just the start. They need proper peer – review and more rigorous testing.
The study was single – center and open – label. This means there could be biases. While the results seem promising, we need randomized, double – blind, placebo – controlled trials. The industry has seen many studies with initial excitement that later fizzled out due to lack of proper controls.
In the nutraceutical supply chain, NatureU’s products are made in NZ and the US. If these studies hold up, it could reshape the market. But until then, consumers should be cautious.
